Learn the foundations of herbal medicine making through the art of herbal oil infusions.

This beginner-level, hands-on workshop introduces participants to the basics of transforming herbs into simple, effective home-use remedies using traditional herbal methods. Herbal oils are one of the most accessible and versatile preparations in herbalism and serve as the foundation for many topical remedies.

Participants will learn how to properly prepare, infuse, store, and label herbal oils while gaining an understanding of plant parts, safety considerations, and best practices for home herbalism. Each attendee will create and take home their own herbal oil infusion.

No prior herbal experience is required.

What will we be making during the workshop?

Participants will prepare an herbal oil infusion using dried herbs and olive oil. Each attendee will create and take home their own prepared infusion jar.

Are the remedies made during the workshop for internal use?

No. Remedies created during this workshop are for external, home use only and are not intended for ingestion.

Will alcohol be used in this workshop?

No. This workshop focuses exclusively on oil-based herbal preparations. Alcohol is not used.

Are materials provided?

Yes. All materials needed for the hands-on portion of the workshop are included in the registration fee, including herbs, oil, jars, and printed educational materials.

Can I resell the herbal oil I make?

No. Remedies made during this workshop are for personal home use only and may not be sold or distributed.

Is this workshop suitable for pregnant or nursing individuals?

Participants who are pregnant, nursing, or taking medications should consult a qualified healthcare professional before using herbs. A patch test is recommended before topical use.

How long is the workshop?

The workshop runs approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, including instruction, hands-on preparation, and Q&A.

Yes. Advanced workshops, including Level 2 Medicine Making (Salves & Balms), will be announced separately.

Registration for this workshop is $95 per person and is required in advance to reserve your seat. Space is limited.

Cancellations made 7 days or more before the scheduled workshop date may request a full refund or credit toward a future workshop.

Cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop are non-refundable due to advance preparation of materials.

No refunds will be issued for no-shows.

Transfers

Registrations may be transferred to another individual with advance notice.

Please notify us at least 24 hours prior to the workshop if you wish to transfer your registration.

Cancellation by Organizer

If the workshop is canceled by Javah’s Holistic Health due to unforeseen circumstances (including instructor illness, low enrollment, or emergency), participants will receive:

A full refund, or

The option to transfer registration to a future workshop date.

Weather & Emergency Policy

In the event of severe weather, public safety concerns, or emergency conditions, the workshop may be postponed or rescheduled. Participants will be notified as soon as possible and given the option to:

Receive a full refund if unable to attend.
